Gate: A point of entry or passageway. The club provides access to an active lifestyle, and, more specifically, multisport/triathlon activities. Further, the club is a way of connecting athletes in the area for support and fellowship.

Iron: Refers to a common measure of triathlon event distances, like Sprint, Olympic, and International.

Symbolism with “Three”:

Three Rivers: Iron Gate, VA, a relatively local town, is the site of a confluence of two rivers, Jackson and Cowpasture, that forms a third, the James River.

Three Headed Dog, Cerberus: A mythical creature with three heads that guards the Gates of Hades.
